International Sessions

The organizing committee of the 62nd Annual Congress of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons (JSPS) welcomes the submission of original abstracts from authors based outside of Japan about any clinical or basic scientific research/ experience or case reports related to pediatric surgery. Abstracts will be selected for either as an oral presentation during the "International Session" of the Congress or as a poster presentation. Authors of abstracts selected for either oral or poster presentation may submit a manuscript to the Publications Committee for possible publication in the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons (JSPS) issue of Pediatric Surgery International (PSI). Please see “PSI (JSPS Issue) page” on our website regarding instructions for submitting manuscripts.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • All abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • The maximum length of the body of the abstract is 350 words. Abstract titles should be concise.
    Please also identify all suitable categories on the abstract submission form that best describes the content of your abstract. Affiliations of all authors must be included.
  • Authors are requested to specify oral or poster presentation. If no request is made, a choice will be made based on content.
  • All abstracts (except for case reports) must be structured with a clear purpose, brief description of methods, a summary of results, and a clear conclusion.
    No images (including tables, graphs) may be included.

    We will accept submissions from non-members if there is a recommendation from a member of the society.

  • Publication in the Pediatric Surgery International (PSI) JSPS Issue

    All abstracts accepted for the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgery are eligible for publication in the PSI JSPS Issue for the year 2025. For details, please refer to the "Pediatric Surgery International JSPS Issue Submission Guidelines" in the journal or the PSI Submission Guidelines on the website of the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons.

  • Duplicate presentation

    For a double presentation of an open call for abstracts, please submit an application in advance and leave the acceptance or rejection of the abstract to the President.

  • Ethical procedures

    The Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgery requires ethical procedures for abstract submissions. Please note that the contents and existence of the ethical approval of the submitted abstract will be subject to peer review for research presentations that require ethical approval.

  • Acceptance or rejection of submitted abstracts

    Please leave the decision on acceptance or rejection, presentation format, and classification of presentation to the Chair. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the e-mail address you entered when submitting your abstract.

  • Please disclose COI (conflict of interest) at the time of presentation.
  • If you have any other questions regarding abstract submission, please contact Organizing Secretariat.

Presentation Style

For oral presentations, authors are requested to prepare a PowerPoint presentation. Embedded audiovisual content (videos, animation, sound) is welcomed. Presentations must be compatible with Windows Media Player and Microsoft PowerPoint. Direct use of other audiovisual media such as videotape playback will not be supported.
Posters should be brought to the Congress and not mailed in advance. Authors are responsible for mounting and removing their own material. There are no content restrictions for posters.
After acceptance notices are sent, authors will receive detailed information about oral and poster presentations.

All abstracts related to pediatric surgery or basic scientific research that has some relevance to pediatric surgery and pediatric urology and case studies will be considered for acceptance and presentation at the Congress. Please indicate all categories from the list on the abstract submission form that best describes the topic of your abstract.

Abstract Submission

The completed abstract submission form should be sent to jsps62@macc.jp by email. Confirmation mail of your abstract submission will be sent from the Organizing Secretariat. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within 5 working days, please contact the Organizing Secretariat.
Notification of abstract acceptance or rejection will be e-mailed to the corresponding author in late March (tentative).

Travel Grant

Abstracts submitted by authors who are not based in Japan and who are younger than 40 years old at the end of the Congress are eligible to apply, using the abstract submission form. Travel grants will be awarded based on merit after completion of a presentation at the Congress and submission of a manuscript for possible publication in the JSPS issue of PSI.
